Hello Ladies and Gents! The winter months are
über
harsh on our skin. Lips look crusty and skin looks dull and ashy.
I know you too must get in that habit
of adding more chap stick and more lotion to alleviate the problem. But
honestly those commercial items contain petroleum which suffocate our skin and
lips, not moisture them. I have a solution that will clarify and allow good
skin cells to grow and moisture to be absorbed.
This sugar scrub recipe can also be a cute DIY gift. Guys if your give this to your girl you will score
extra points with her in the romantic department. Plus her skin or his skin will look and feel soft, radiant,
rejuvenated, and silky.

You should have this texture |
Sugar is a natural glycolic acid, which is very often used
to scrub dead skin cells in order to stimulate the growth of new ones. Hence
glowing skin. Coconut oil is very moisturizing and penetrates the epidermis quickly. Lemon is brightening, but can also be caustic, so be careful with using too much of this stuff. And good ol' Honey is a humectant, which attracts moisture. You can play around with the ingredients and make your own version of a spa treat.
Honey Lemon-Coco Scrub
1 &1/3 cup of Brown or White Sugar
1.5 tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tbsp Dark Honey
Mix all the ingredients together in a container you will be
storing your scrub in, until you have a smooth paste. You can decorate the jar
with a cute bow if you are giving it as a gift, or you can keep it in a cool
dark place for use.
Directions for use:
Make sure the skin is dampened with warm water or use after
a warm/hot shower. Gently rub the sugar scrub in a circular motion to
exfoliate. You can use this all over your body: Including your face, just be gentle with scrubbing to hard, and avoid the eyes. Rinse off and then tone
and moisturize.

DeleteHi Pilly,
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good. My skins horrible; I'm white, I'm 52 years old, post menopausal and would love to find something that will moisturize my skin without tearing the cells and making me break out. I will try this though. I love your website. I'm going to bookmark and come back here. Thanks for the awesome ideas and inspiration! :)
Hi Cyn,
DeleteI have problems with my skin in the winter. This Scrub saves me when my skin is feeling tight. And I use coconut oil afterwards. Let me know how you feel afterwards and remember to seal that moister in after you come out the shower. :-)
